Yes sorry I meant something as simple to use, with little to no learning curve.Long distance ham requires more equipment and loads of experience and knowledge of transmission laws and stillisn’t guaranteed to work depending on current conditions, is that right?

Some won’t but I imagine some will and these things use all the cell towers/companies so if some are down theseradios still work.If it all goes down then you shit outta luck.Ham is still the goal but these appear to be an awesome backup.
It's the same as your regular phone, both wont work in a real emergency (outage/storm/similar)
