blackcat -- 39d That's great! I heard LND is the most used yes. I use CLN and pretty happy with it tho. As far as I know only possible fail is: node A announces a channel from a year ago, your bitcoind doesn't have that block where channel was created so LND can't validate the channel is still open. If you were running it for days you probably validated almost every channel announce you received. Good thing is if ever need full chain just resync bitcoind, your channels should never be affected. You can DM if ever have any doubt or whatever ✌🏼 enjoy the node 😸⚡ replyThat's great! I heard LND is the most used yes. I use CLN and pretty happy with it tho. Question: apparently my 1TBnostr:nprofile1qyt8wue69uhh2mtzwfjkctnvda3kzmp6xsurgwqpzpmhxw309a6k6cnjv4kr5dpcxsuqqg829c7gzngg5du03fdcltkt9zzdqkz4jaw9ef94cf0z6munv2r0zsg8cnv5 node ran out of space yesterday. Can I prune the blockchain and still runAlbyhub and BTCPayServer (or do they require the entire chain)?Or can I connect an external drive to create extra space for Bitcoin Core?
For a core lightning node there is no need of the full chain but access to old blocks can be needed, I use apruned node with trustedcoin plugin to fallback in case my node pruned the needed blocks
Haven't heard of the trustedcoin plugin before, sounds good!I'm a bit rusty on my Lightning Node implementations but I believe I'm running an LND node 😅
It is actually really good, it uses bitcoind if available and if the block was pruned it uses different publicblock explorers like mempool and others, best of both worlds 😁Happy to help if I can, I will take a look if LND has something similar, I never used umbrel so I'm not surewhat options you have but the blocksdir option for bitcoind may be your way to go
You can't switch from bitcoind to LND right? It would require a new setup? Thanks for the help! Appreciate it! 🙏
If created channels already then you already have LND or CLN (the lightning node). Umbrel has both options:https://apps.umbrel.com/app/lightninghttps://apps.umbrel.com/app/core-lightningIf using LND I'm not sure if you have something like the trustedcoin plugin (searched a bit but didn't find). If using CLN then you should be able to install the plugin and work with it. In both cases a bitcoind is good tohave.
Yeah it's an LND node, just checked. Went ahead and pruned the node and everything still seems to be workingfine. Fingers crossed though 😅🤞
