| She went and asked the manager. They said I couldn’t pay in bitcoin because the iPad was out of battery…             |

     This happened to me as well in Italy, I was trying to buy Falafel by Kebhouze, which was supposed (I didn't on a
     different location) to accept Bitcoin
     
     Their iPad was turned off....
