| Trump just fired Attorney General Pam Bondi two weeks before her sworn Epstein testimony, and the timing tells
| you everything. She was set to appear before the House Oversight Committee to answer for what lawmakers on both
| sides call a cover-up of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
|
| Trump announced on Truth Social that Bondi would be moving to "a much needed and important new job in the
| private sector," CNN offering zero explanation for why she was actually being pushed out.
|
| Translation: you're fired, but let's pretend this was your idea.
|
| It wasn't. A senior administration official confirmed to NBC News that Bondi was fired, not gently transitioned.
|
| According to multiple reports, Trump had grown furious that Bondi hadn't investigated or prosecuted enough of
| his political opponents. CNN That's right: the President of the United States fired his top law enforcement
| officer because she wasn't weaponizing the DOJ fast enough against his personal enemies.
|
| Trump had been particularly angry about the Justice Department's failure to bring successful cases against
| former FBI Director James Comey and New York AG Letitia James both of whose indictments were thrown out after a
| judge ruled the prosecutor was serving illegally.
|
| But the real story here is the Epstein cover-up. Bondi went from claiming the "client list" was sitting on her
| desk to DOJ officials later saying no such document existed. The New Republic She then handed out dramatic white
| binders to MAGA influencers at the White House that turned out to contain nothing new. Washington Examiner A
| masterclass in misdirection — until even Republicans had enough.
|
| The bipartisan subpoena for her testimony on April 14th still stands. Newsweek Rep. Nancy Mace, the Republican
| who forced the vote, said Bondi "handled the Epstein Files in a terrible manner" and confirmed the subpoena was
| issued to Bondi personally, not to the office.
|
| So Trump didn't fire Bondi for being corrupt. He fired her for not being corrupt enough. And the timing, right
| before she was set to answer questions about the most explosive cover-up in modern American politics, tells you
| everything you need to know about who this administration is really protecting.
