No matter how much distro hopping I do I always end up back on Debian, I think | | its time to stop the hopping and except the fact this is my forever home. Debian on my laptop just works perfectly | | and the battery life is above and beyond what I get on other distros, well Openmandriva comes close to battery life | | but that’s for another day. | | | | Debian is a rock solid distro with pretty much all you need out of the box. They have a massive collection in the | | repo to get you going without having to turn to Flatpak. Don’t get me wrong Flatpak is not all that bad but its more | | the fact when you are limited on ram Flatpak can easily kill the ram from my experience. If you are looking for rock | | solid then look no further then Debian, its simple to install and has a feel to it that it will work when needed and | | that to me is worth its weight in gold all day. | | | | On my Linux journey I have tried so many distros its hard to keep up with them all and they all kinda blur into one | | at some point. Debian is truly one distro I can hand on heart say starts every time and runs no | | different each time and that to me is a win win. For way to long have I always looked at other distros or how to | | customise my android phone and I can honestly say I’m to old for this crap now. Give me stable and solid on all my | | devices from now on. The days of making things look pretty just because I can are over, give me plain and boring | | from now on. I know full well I can never stick to plain but I will make dam sure I try to. | | | | As I’m writing this I can feel the pull to try a new distro and I blame YouTube for that, all jokes aside I really | | do want to find that perfect place to call home with all my devices, give me the freedom to be my own boss and | | decide what I want to share and to whom. Nostr has given me this freedom to be who I want to be and I have learnt a | | whole lot from there and found a lot of others looking like me for that forever home.
