running core-lightning v26.04I have *never* had an issue migrating to a new cln version since 2018. absolutely incredible piece of software.
We pushed it a bit on this one: There are some clients who may have trouble staying connected to you: LNDK nodesand some people who are running an older git version of LND.You can set message-padding=false if this happens.
I just expect one of these days the migration will break and ill be screwed. Luckily hasn’t happened yet
That's why we have a downgrade tool now, too.

I wish! No, it rolls back the database, deletes the gossip store if the format has changed, and checks of you've used any new features which would prevent downgrade.
