Introduced chicks we’d raised until juveniles in their | | own area into the permanent coop area with our juvenile Khaki Campbell ducks. | | The ducks were skittish and didn’t really want anything to do with the | | chickens. If the chickens got too close the ducks would pounce and chase them | | in anger. The chickens were faster and we’d raised chickens with ducks before | | without issue so I wasn’t worried. I figured the ducks just needed to realize | | the new crew wasn’t a threat. Fast forward to day 2 and we come home from town | | to find a dead chicken in the coop run and the other two are beat up too. The | | dead chick looked like it had been thrashed and stomped.
