Abdullah Ibn Masoud said: Jamaah(Community) is what is compatible with truth even if you were alone.
الجماعة ما وافق الحق ولو كنت وحدك.
btw the prophet pbuh said in his favor : if i were to install someone as the leader(in another narration caliph)
without consultation it would be son of umm abd. This gives him a great level of quality of leadership and
understanding things of islam needed for governance or at least good enough grasp/capability similar to ali, abu
bakr, umar. This prophetic narration btw gives us also that obviously even the prophet can't do nothing without
consultation. And the words of abdullah ibn masoud being against any sense of supposed ijma' consensus being
evidence or important. And there is a prophetic quote saying don't be an imma'ah امعة if people do good we do
good and if bad we do bad.

"لا يكُنْ أحدُكم إمَّعة، يقول: أنا مع الناس، إن أحسن الناس أحسنتُ، وإن أساؤوا أسأنا، ولكن وَطِّنوا أنفسكم: إن أحسن الناس
أن تُحسِنوا، وإن أساؤوا فلا تظلموا".

"Let none of you be a mere follower, saying, 'I go along with the crowd; if they do good, I do good, and if they
do wrong, I do wrong.' Instead, resolve within yourselves: if they do good, do good yourselves; but if they do
wrong, do not wrong them."

last line is actually : do not do wrong(injustice) as in don't follow them in being wrong.
