Fairphone commits to providing many years of updates but doesn't follow through on truly doing it. They ship a subset of the AOSP security patches multiple months late and OS updates at least a year late. They skip shipping nearly all the Linux kernel patches and don't update the kernel branch so it ends up end-of-life. They skip many driver, HAL and firmware patches. That's not proper support. reply [1 reply]nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyd968gmewwp6kyqpqr6xx8hy9e9lgpd426ca3cmmrqyxmnfycxeyuzvhfm78mnfn3tctsx79us5 nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyd968gmewwp6kyqpq276r74yjdughqx9rgtwtcsdw8quetk6tam89jn07qg2zsk0un64qgq37xe GrapheneOS requires devices to provide many years of proper updates. Only providing a tiny portion of the updates to a massiveportion of the OS is not a serious approach to updates and is incompatible with truly providing long termsupport and sustainability.Fairphone 3, 4 and 5 have an end-of-life kernel branch. Fairphone 6 will too. They don't have any plans toaddress this.
